Revised April, 1984
• The impoundment will be devatered by pumping into Middle Creek prior
to backfilling operations utilizing a pump vith a floating intake to
prevent additional contribution of suspended solids to streams. The
modification of the Mine No. 3 Detention Basin vill be completed prior
to commencement of mining operations.
The Middle Creek Mine Detention Basin is a proposed structure
which will be constructed at the final phase of backfilling and
grading of the Middle Creek mine pit. As described in the spoil
grading plan under Section 2.05.3(2), backfilling and grading will
progress from north to south in the pit. The pit now serves and will
continue to serve as the sediment control facility for drainage from
disturbed areas until the final phase of backfilling and grading of
• the Middle Creek mine pit. Ditches P-1 and P-2 will be eatended and
maintained to direct runoff from disturbed areas into the pit as
operations progress. The pit itself will be dewatered by pumping into
Middle Creek at the southernmost end of the pit, utilizing a pump with
a floating intake to prevent additional contribution of suspended
solids to streams. Construction of the Middle Creek Mine Detention
Basin will be completed as the backfilling and grading operations are
completed.
The first phase in construction of all pond embaalonenta will be
to clear from the embankment foundation area all organic material,
especially topsoil for stockpiling or other use, to clear all unstable
. material, to slope all surface to no steeper than 1:1, and to scarify
the entire foundation surface.
2.05-22a'
