The Say - September precipitation is <br />' generally 8 inches. These two precipitation patterns resu:Lt in <br />a normal annual precipitation of 25 inches near Somerset. <br />' Peecipitation data are available from the 4!ilcox Ranch Stai:ion <br />(Iat. 38° 55' N and IAng. 107° 31' Y1), the climatic data station closest to the <br />Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine Study area. This station is east of <br />' Rowie on the north side of the North Fork of the Gunnison Fiver <br />in the Hubbard Creek Drainage. Figure 2.04.4(1) (a)-1 presents the mean <br />monthly precipitation and annual mean precipitation data for 12 <br />' to 13 years prior to 1954. <br />An average of 18.45 inches of precipitation was received at the <br />Wilcox Ranch (Figure 2.04.8(1)(a)-1). Greatest average precipitation <br />is recorded in April (2.08 inches) and the least in September <br />(0.85 inches). The maximum monthly precipitation fell during <br />' April (9.52 inches), with June (9.15 inches) and January <br />(9.02 inches) recor~cl\g similar maxima. even October (3.90 <br />inches) and August (3.82 inches) have recorded substantial <br />' amounts of precipitation. ?lovember has a lower maximum recorded <br />precipitation than any other month. <br />The I•!ilcox.Ranch figure of 18.45 inches cf. precipitation will. he usP? for <br />further calculations as it is the Trost eo~~lete record. <br />' PFVISFD ['av 15, 19 P,1 4g <br />
