Banta, <br />Division Director <br />Enclosed is a letter from the Department of the Interior, fish and Wildlife <br />Service resulting from their preliminary review of this revision. Please note <br />that they have requested the Office of Surface Mining to make a preliminary <br />• determination of potential impacts to endangered species by associated <br />depletion of the Colorado River. The OSM may then request formal consultation <br />from the Ffsh and Wildlife Service. <br />The Division will withhold issuance of a proposed decision until after this <br />issue, as well as those listed in our adequacy letter of June 4, 1991 are <br />resolved. Since a proposed decision is due on July 15, 1991 we urge NCIG to <br />waive in writing the right to a decision within the time frames described in <br />Rule 2.08.4(5)(b)(11), so that the review period may be extended. <br />Please call if you wish to discuss this issue further. <br />Sincerely, <br />~~~C~ ~ /~ <br />William B.
