RE: Application for Construction Materials Operation Reclamation Permit by Grave], LLC,
Durango, Colorado.
To Whom It May Concern:
On August 22, 2005, the Durango-La Plata County Airport submitted a protest to the reclamation
plans of Gravel, LLC of 47 Pinnacle View Drive, Durango, CO 81301, for their application for a
regular (] 12} Construction Materials Operation Reclamation Permit with the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Act for the Extraction of Construction Materials. We opposed the
reclamation permit based upon Page 9B of Exhibit E, the Piedras De La Florida Conceptual
Development Plan which indicated that following gravel mining operations, 76 residential units
were be planned for the permit azea. The Durango-La Plata County Airport was opposed the
residential development of this area due to conflict with the draft Aitport Area Compatible Land
Use Plan. W e have been informed that the request for residential use after mining operations aze
complete has been withdrawn. The new reclamation plan, as presented to our office, is for light
commerciaVindustrial uses on this property. This proposed use is consistent with the draft
Airport Compatible Land Use Plan.
As the primary reason for our letter of objection has been resolved, we lvish to withdraw our
opposition to this reclamation permit.
