w.~vCR1YLIR
To Whom It May Concern:
,After much research, I have become aware of an Indian burial ground that is in danger of
being disrupted. Being a history buff, I had been told prior to the research that this
ground was sacred because of it being a burial ground. I did not think much aboutr it
until recently. I was made aware through The Chronicle-News (June 14, 2004) that
Valco int. has applied far a construction material pemut from the Land anal Reclamation
Board. This permit is for the exhaction of construction materials in Las Animas County
Colorado. The problem with this perbgit is it encompasses an old, sacred Indian burial
ground.
I am not against business of suy type; however I think this is sacrilegious and disturbing.
It is a horrifying thought that human remains will be used is construction materials.
These people wort rested here and do not belong to the landowners rA do with as they
please. I hope this letter will bring about some change in thinking. We do not need to
disturb this land. There is plenty of land available that could be permitted without
disturbing such a historical area.
Thank you for your help.
>,
->. ,
. is
Perhaps we can stop this offensive situation.
PAGE 04
