Sorenson R~{iFIVC~
Tuttle Applegate, Inc. AU6
11990 Grant Street, Suite 410
Denver, Colorado 80233
Dear Pat:
Your letter of July 21, 1995, regarding the Connell Resources-
Wellington Downs Pit has been reviewed with respect to potential
impacts related to Interstate 25. As noted in your letter, our
Region 4 Development/Access Coordinator, Teresa Jones, has also
been contacted regarding traffic issues related to State Highway
68. She will respond to you and Larimer County by separate letter.
We appreciate your concern about the location of the proposed pit
adjacent to I-25. At this time, we do not have any identified
additional right of way width for the interstate in this area.
Such long-range needs are difficult to identify along an interstate
corridor without a comprehensive study. There is a project for
reconstruction of the S.H. 68 Interchange in late 1997, but any
required right of way for this work will not impact your pit area.
In view of the above, it does not appear that this pit will
conflict with any of our immediate or future plans along I-25. It
is not in our authority to grant "approval" of this pit location,
as requested in your letter. We hope the lack of conflict with any
anticipated improvements will be sufficient for your needs.
Please contact Teresa at (970) 350-2163 if you have any further
concerns on this matter.
Very truly yours,
<t ~7
Dougl D.
