Geochemistry of Coal and Burden Materials <br />• The chemistry of the associated roof and floor materials of the "F" coal seams are presented in Exhibit 9, Chemical <br />Analysis of Roof and Floor Materials. <br />RAG EC has not obtained similar samples from the roof and floor of the "F" and "E" coal seams. The roof and floor <br />samples were taken using an underground core rig (Diamec 250 Series) from the No. 5 Mine workings. The locations <br />of the six (6) underground core holes, from which samples have been obtained, have been noted on the Geology Map <br />(Map 7). The six (6) holes used in the analysis were as follows: <br />86 - 06 <br />86-19 <br />• 85 - 28 <br />• 85 - 19 <br />• 85 - 36 <br />• 85 - 54 <br />RAG EC had originally planned to sample and analyze the waste material that is placed on the waste disposal pi8 <br />(Refer to Exhibit 21, Waste Disposal Site). However, since roof and floor materials have been analyzed from both the <br />"F" and "E" coal seams, this sampling is no longer necessary with the exception of a few SAR valves. The parameters <br />tested are within Wyoming guidelines for overburden suitability. Since it is planned to cover the waste material with a <br />minimum cover of four (4) feet, the waste material will not impair any revegetation efforts. <br />In addition to the chemical analyses, the sulfur forms for be "F" and "E" Coal Seams have been tabulated and are <br />• presented in Table 10, Sulfur Form Analyses for the "F" and "E" Coal Seams. As expected, the majority of the sulfur <br />in the coal is organic and the sulfate sulfur is either immeasurable or insigni£cant It is requested [hat [his information <br />be kept CONFIDENTIAL. <br />Included in Exhibit 8, Supplemental Geologic Information, are geologist's interpretations of representative drill hole <br />logs found in the permit area.
