A minimum 100' undisturbed greenbelt should separate the pit from the river
and at the north end of tl~e island. A minirmun of 75' should be left on
- either side of the overflow channel and wetland area.
2. Ln addition to the greenbelt, cottonwoods and other vegetation should be left
around the perimeter.
3. TwD islands with native vegetation should be left to provide nesting areas for
waterfowl and passerine birds.
4. The pit bottom and shoreline should be irregular to enhance aquatic life forms.
Peninsulas are desirable.
5. An area 150-200' in length and sloped a 5:1 should be left at the north and
south ends to encourage aquatic vegetation.
6.
