moderate medium granular structure; soft friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; slightly acid
(pH 6.5); clear smooth boundary.
B2 4 to 10 inches; dark brown (7.5 YR 4/2) clay loam, dark brown (7.SYR 3/2) moist; moderate
medium subangular blocky structure that parts to moderate fine subangular blocky structure;
hard, friable, sticky and plastic; thin continuous clay films; slightly acid (pH 6.3); clear wavy
boundary.
C 10 to 14 inches. Very pale brawn (lOYR 7/4) channery loam, yellowish brown (lOYR 5/4)
moist; massive; hard, friable, slightly sticky, hard and slightly plaztiG 35 percent sandstone
channery, mildly alkaline (pH 7.4); gradual smooth boundary.
R 14 inches. Slightly weathered calcareous sandstone or interbedded sandstone and shale.

sandstone fragments; then patchy clay films, slightly acid (pH 6.5); clear wavy boundary.
B21t 12 to 18 inches. Brown (7.SYR 5/4) clay, dark brown 7YR 4/4) moist; moderate and fine medium
subangular blocky structure; very hard, firm, sticky, plastic; S percent sandstone fragments; moderate,
continuous clay Clms; slightly acid (pH 6.5); clear wavy boundary.
622t 18 to 28 inches. Brown (7.SYR 5/4) clay, dark brown (7.SYR 4/4) moist, moderate coarse angular
and subangular blocky structure; very hard, firm, sticky and plastic, 5 percent sandstone fragments;
moderate, continuous clay films; slightly acid (pH 6.5); gradual wavy boundary.
Cca 28 to 37 inches. Light brown (7.SYR 6/4) channery clay loam, brown (7.SYR 5/4) moist;
massive; hard, friable, slightly sticky, plastic; 20 percent sandstone fragments; calcareots, viable
secondary lime well disseminated throughout horizon; slightly acid (pH 6.3); abrupt wavy
boundary.
R 37 inches. Fractured, calcareous sandstone bedrock, many feet thick.

loam, dark grayish brown (2.SYR 42) moist; massive; slightly hard, very friable, slightly sticky
and slightly plastic; common tine and very tine roots; strongly effervescent; mildly alkaline (pH
7.6).
