1. Please specify if the chopper fines will be covered by the topsoil or will stick up above
ground. Will the chopper fines impact the ability to establish rangeland vegetative cover?
2. The application states that the mine slope of 3:1 or less steep will be maintained. The
current slopes on the working face of the site are near vertical. Will the future mining be
able to maintain a 3:1 or less steep slope and still be able to quarry out the sandstone?
3. Will the quarry store all the stormwater from the site? Please confirm that stormwater
will not be discharged from the pit. If stormwater runs off site, what methods will be
used to reduce sediment from leaving the permitted site?
4. Specify the approximate dimensions of the stonnwater detention sump if needed.
5. The disturbance section refers to the quarry and topsoil stockpiles as the only disturbance.
Will all the processed and waste rock be stored in the quarry? If not please specify were
the processed and waste rock will be stored and processed. Please be sure that such
processing and storage azeas aze within the permit boundary. Please modify maps
accordingly if necessary.
6. Specify the dimensions of any existing roads that will be used for the mining operation.
Describe any improvements necessary on existing roads. If roads aze substantially
upgraded for the mining operation, they must be included in the permit area as affected
land according to Rule 1.1(3).
6.3.4 EXHIBIT D -Reclamation Plan
1. Will the high-wall benches be topsoiled and revegetated.
2. Will the vertical high-wall faces be left exposed?
3. Will areas outside the quarry need to be reclaimed? This could include areas where
equipment has been operating, where rock products have been stored, or where topsoil
stock piles were placed.
4. Final topography appears to be closed on all four sides and might store water. Will the
reclaimed quarry be a pond? If so then the State Division of Water Resources should be
contacted about a water storage permit, if water will be held on site fot more then 72
hours.
6.3.5 EXHIBIT E -Map
On the mining map.
1. Please identify the pit boundaries, and where the product stockpiles will be placed Is the
entire permit boundary expected to be the pit boundaries? Please note that any mine
disturbance including product stockpiling needs to remain inside the permit boundary,
2. Please outline and label existing disturbance within and/or adjacent to the permit
boundary (e.g., previously mined azeas). You may also photograph previously disturbed
(pre-law) areas so there will be no confirsion as to what you aze responsible to reclaim.
On the Reclamation map
1. The reclamation map appears to indicate that the final configuration will be a square
pond, it this correct (see comment 4 in section 6.3.4)?
6.3.6 EXHIBIT F-List of Other Permits and Licenses Required
