INTRODUCTION
The objective of the study is to establish the total anticipated flow entering the proposed mining
' operation area from the entire Tallahassee Basin during a 100 year-24 hour storm with a rainfall
intensity of 3.5 inches and a 10 year-24 hour storm with a rainfall intensity of Z.5 inches. Based on
' these findings two bridges will be designed that will cross the Tallahassee Creek without impeding
or disturbing the existing flow from the Tallahassee Basin. Crossings will be designed to meet all
of the Army Corps of Engineers requirements.
SITE LOCATION (See Exhibit I)
The project site is located some 15 miles west of Canon City along Colorado State Highway 50. A
site location map is included.
' TALLAHASSEE BASIN AREA
The total basin of the Tallahassee Creek encompasses some 287 square miles of varied terrain. The
major tributaries to this basin are the following creeks:
' 1. Tallahassee Creek,
2. Currant Creek,
3
C
tt
d C
k
.
onwoo
ree
o
,
4. 31 Mile Mountain Creek,
5. Various Minor Creeks.
' In order to arrive at a more reliable estimate of anticipated floes, the entire basin has been divided
' into the following major sub-basins starting at the highest elevations of the Tallahassee Creek basin.

PAGE1
1
