27 <br />The location is ideal as it straddles an excellent access route from <br />Eckman Park to Twentymile Park. The site, 5RT24, is also located in <br />an ideal circumstance, as it is adjacent to Foidel Creek and on the <br />break in slope at the head of Eckman Park. <br />The two historic architectural sites, 5RT12 and SRT35, are not <br />very different from those in Tracts 3 and 6. <br />Portions Surveyed <br />Steep slopes and heavy vegetation account for most of the unsur- <br />veyed area in these four tracts (Tables lA, 2A, 3A, 4A). The southern <br />portion of Tract 1 was heavily vegetated and impassible. Eckman Park <br />includes a considerable amount of cultivated land, but this portion of <br />the lease was surveyed as the land was lying fallow. <br />~• The northern portion of Tract 1 and the southern portion of Tract <br />4 are transected by a partly exposed sandstone cliff that curves to <br />the north. This was not surveyed due to its steepness and vegetative <br />cover. North of this, the terrain is much flatter and under cultiva- <br />tion. Sec. 12 was not surveyed north of the escarpment with the excep- <br />tion of a small portion covered before the landowner intervened and with- <br />drew permission. Almost all of Tract 4 was under cultivation and was <br />not surveyed to avoid damage to crops. <br />The terrain in Tract 3 was, for the most part, suitable for survey, <br />with the exception of very steep slopes adjacent to Foidel Creek. The <br />areas not surveyed, including most of Sec. 23 and the west half of Sec. <br />25, were eliminated due to cultivation. This also applies to the north- <br />ern part of Sec. 27 that lies in the tract, and to the northwest cor- <br />e ner of Sec. 28. The portion of Tract 3 which straddles the section <br />
