collects drainage, .apparently after rains and during spring runoff, as no •
ditches are present.
Vegetation on the 4-40's Property consists of a mosaic of small
aspen groves and several large thickets of sagebrush, serviceberry, and
gambel oak.
Large portions of the survey area were dissected by old roads and
cleared areas.
No site either on or eligible for nomination to the National
Register of Historic Places was found on the 4-40's Property. No prehis-
toric sites or cultural remains were found. The only historic disturbances
were a small man-made impoundment and, nearby, a small wooden-pole corral
reinforced with bailing wire. The corral is of rather recent age, and
probably is related to hunting activities or use of the impoundment for
ranching activities.
u
CONCLUSIONS
As a result of the archaeological survey of the 4-40's Property,
no further cultural resource work is recommended.
•
2 solanae services dirlsion
