I2.8 WET Testing Results
In 1998, five NPDES outfalls had Acute WET tests performed as required by NPDES Permit CO-
0032115- sites 001, 002, 005, 009, and 011. In all cases the discharges showed no acute toxicity to the
test species. A WET test failure did occur for C. dubia at outfall 011 (East Pyeatt drainage) during the
fourth quarter of 1997. Accelerated testing for this failure was completed once flow resumed at this
outfall during the first quarter of 1998 and showed the documented toxicity was not persistent.
Summaries for the tests conducted during 1998 are included in Appendix C of Section 2.5. In
accordance with our NPDES permit, in the future, only those drainages that receive pit dewatering or
spoil spring contributions are required to undergo WET testing.
Ewa SM
K Doc
•
