RE% E LOESBY pE 3037719652
P. 02
• .
Assume sixteen hours of earthwork using a large wheel loader at a rate of $200 per hour including labor,
consumables, and mobllization ($3,100). An additional 4 hours with a large backhce at $200 per hour will also be
required (5800). Waste material is readily available from existing waste piles close to entries. Large waste blocks
will be placed, then wills filled with smaller waste rock and fines. A 4 inch drainage pipe will be placed in the
lowest portal before backfilling to allow drainage from the quarry down tot the sediment control structure, a distance
of alwut 300 feet. A screened sump inside the quarry will collect water. The Cost of the sump, pipe, and
installation is estimated ai 52,0(10.
(1) Assume four days of work for a hackhoe at $100 per hour to perform Initial cleanout, then a return trip after two
years far a final cleanout
(3) Assume five toot steel or iron fencing with picksts placed on spacing of 4 inches and painted taps designed to
discourage climbers, similar to that placed by the Inactive Mine Program (1MP) in the mid•1980s. Fencing should be
placed so that at ne time may the public be subject to rock falls from above the quarry entries, The total length of
fencing is estimated at 100 feet as much of the fencing placed by IMP is still in place and effective. The cost is
estimated at $30 per lineal foot including Installation labor and mobilization tar a total of $3,000. This estimate is
based on the lower- to mld•range quote from four fence contractors. A $59 eslimafB was received from Standard
Fence of Denver, a ~5 estimate was received from Elcar Fence of Denver, a $30 estimate was received from Split
Rail Fence of Denver, and a low bid of $26 was received from Green Mountain Ornamental Iron In Lakewood.
(4) Assume 8 hours plovdnq with small tractor at $11t) per tour including labor, consumables, and mobilization.
(5 Assume 6 Inches of topsoil over 1/3 acre or approximately 270 cubic yards of Topsoil, Topsoil to be hauled to
the site from Carbondale, 35 miles away, Quotes were solicited from a number of haulage contractors. The average
was $25 per yard delivered to the site all inclusive.
(6) Assume 8 hours spreading with a small loader/spreader at $F4 per hour including labor, consumables, and
mobilizatOn.
(1) Assume 3 hours seed drilling at $60 per twur and 1400 pounds of mulch applied at a rate of E500 per acre
including labor, consumables, and mobilization.
(8) Assume 60 tree seedlings in 4 groupings at a rate of $15 per tree and 50 shrubs seedlings at a rate of $15 per
shrub including labor, consumables, and mobilization.
(9) Assume two crazy-2~s e+~'r<me thdc a9iabers two days at $40 per tour for removal of cables and curtains.
Assume 6 days for two workers to remove temporary fencing and drainage pipe (if not burled) at S40 per hour.
(10) Assume 6 days for two workers to improve loot trail at $40 per hour.
Maximum disturbance of the land is anticipated at the end of the mine life when the
marble waste piles have reached their maximum size. However, the amount of land to be
revegetated is limited to a portion of the access roads on the surface of the waste piles. The total
area to be revegetated should not exceed 1/3 acre, even at the rims of maximum disturbance.
l5
