1~~ii~riiilui»ii
i-- ~~~/ Doc Date:12/11/2001
SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Localtions
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CDMG will be provided with map(s) illustrat-
ing the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate locations
for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year. Those maps (5-1 and 5-2) are
included in this section.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendix W updating the
repoA and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles. Since
1990, Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles. Table 4.9.2-
1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, a coordinate (based on the approxi-
mate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
At the end of 1995 there were 75 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 169.3 acres and storing
approximately 3,815,087 cubic yards of salvaged materials.
During 1995, Trapper constructed five new stockpiles and added topsoil to six existing piles. Addition-
ally, portions of five existing piles were removed and twelve piles were eliminated via topsoil replace-
ment.
The proposed approximate locations (as shown an Topsoil Stockpile Maps 1 and 2) for topsoil stockpiling
in 1996 may exceed the actual number that will be constructed. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the
number of piles constructed are dependent upon the field wndftions that are encountered each reclama-
tion season. Additionally, particular piles may be depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost
• effective salvage or replacement program during a particular year.
Permit tables 4.9-3 and 4.9-4 were not updated within this report as the current mid-term review is
addressing the topsoil balance issue.
rDMGVSREPI57
