<br />Earthwork was approached as follows: dewatering of individual ponds was necessary to allow bulldozer access to <br />the pond banks for shaping to 3: I. The unmined pad in the north end was ripped to eliminate compaction and allow <br />revegetation. Stockpiled topsoil was loaded and trucked to the pond bank and dre pad, [hen rough graded by <br />dozer. Revegetation of the pond banks and pad was performed by tractor drilling of seed, plus fertilizer and mulch <br />according to the approved plan. Pond perimeters. surface area of water and land, and slope crass sections are <br />shown on the map, photo and diagrams included at the end of [he packet. 1 have tried to be careful and thorough <br />with nrv estimates of volumes, grades and distances. Costs include specitica[ions from the approved reclamation <br />plan, which originate from the original pernii[ application and subsequent revisions. Obvioush, if certain volumes <br />or distances were estimated in error, or different equipment can perform a necessaro task more efficiently, or clean- <br />up is performed. these reclamation costs may change. The equipment and labor rates cannot be changed. since they <br />are based on current documented costs, including rates which private reclamation contractors have included in their <br />bids to dre State No reclamation costs were assigned to [he 23 acres in [he northwest corner, where there has been <br />no disturbance <br />If a revision of [he mining or reclamation plans is desired, this may be performed via a technical revision (TR). <br />However, until a technical revision is approved, die amount reflected in this estimate, or one agreed upon through <br />discussions with you. must be submitted within the timeframe shown below. <br />Please review this information and contact me promptly if you notice any errors or more efficient methods of <br />performing the required reclamation. Responses from you, concerning modification of any estimated reclamation <br />cost, should be in writing. But please be aware of the State statute which requires a 60-day timeframe for providin¢ <br />the bond increase (Section 34-32.5-I 17(b) and (c), CRS). By statute, 1 cannot extend this period, but revision [o <br />[his estimate may be made. Operations with insufficient bonds may be found in violation.
