<br /> locaest elevatiors o` ta e coniferous woodland types in Colorado, Lt is the
<br />' transition zone beta:ec_, grasslands and the montane forests, At the lo~:cr limits
<br /> the type nay consist o_ scattered to almost pure stands o; Utah juniper en th•=
<br /> ::estern slope, and one seeded juniper on the Eastern slope, As the type blends
<br /> into the Ponderosa pine or gal;brush types, pinyon pine and Rocl:y i'.ountain juni-
<br />' per become the dominant species. Betcaeen Che extremes pinyon and the various
<br /> junipers constitute a t rue plant association,
