KNAPP RANCH, L.L.C.
2039 Linden Drive
Boulder, Colorado 80302 RECEIVED
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
Division of Minerals and Geology
Room 215
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Sirs:
MAY 0 4 1998
Division of Minerals ~ Get>foplt
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~.,~'~
REG~ ED
APR ~ggg
Division o inerals & Geobgy
In response to the application of Mountain Park Concrete; Parshall Pit to mine sand and
gravel in Grand County, Colorado, I am writing to question the need for the permit to
extend for twenty years.
I have spoken to Metro Docheff, the party applying for the permit, and also to Shani
Eastin of Tuttle Applegate, Inc. Both Mr. Docheff and Ms. Eastin assure me that the land
will be reclaimed as soon as mining is completed. Since our land adjoins this land, we are
interested in seeing this done as soon as possible. Mr. Dochefftells me that he wants to
start the mining immediately, so that he won't have to haul gravel to his concrete business.
Ms. Eastin further states that Mr. Docheff intends to mine only nine acres of this land. if
he begins immediately and mines only nine acres, I do not see how this could take
anywhere near twenty years.
I therefore propose that the time period be reduced to five years. If any gravel remains
after [hat time, the permit could be renewed. Wejust don't want to wait for twenty years
for the reclamation to take place.
Sincerely,
Jd~-G~~~~-~, ~
H.G. Robert Knapp, M.D.
Manager
~~\~
nJ~
~~
