x. Oil and Grease Monitorine
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the event an oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample shall
be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR. In addition, corrective action shall be taken immediately
to mitigate the discharge of oil and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be included with the
DMA.
Self-monitoring sampling by the permitlee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following locations: Outfalls 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 011, 0 ] 2, 013, 014, 0 ] 5, 016 and 017
at the outfalls oC the sedimentation ponds prior to entering the immediate receiving waters.
If the petutittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any parameter more frequently than required by [his permit,
then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values required in the Discharge
Monitoring Report Form (DMRs) or other forms as required by the Division. Such increased frequency shall also be
indicated.
Monitoring Exemptions:
For Outfalls 004, 005, 008, 009, O1 L, O14, 015, 016 and 017, during the winter season, monitoring may be suspended at the
pem~i[tee's option when adverse weather conditions prohibit safe access [o one or more of these discharge points a[ the
• frequencies specified in this subpart. Monitoring shall recommence at the first opportunity after such inaccessibility ends.
When inaccessibility prevents sample collection, the permit[ee shat] document what monitoring was missed and the specific
conditions- that prevented access in cover letters [o the appropriate Discharge Monitoring Reports. For Outfalls 002, 003,
004, 005, 006, 008, 010, 011, 012, 073, 014, 016 and 017, the permittee is exempted from the chronic WET testing frequency
of 3 grabs/test if effluent discharges cease before the end of the monitorin, period (see Par? LA.6.a). For Outfalis 013, 014
and 017, weekly monitoring for pH and flow may be exempted, based upon demonstration of inaccessibility.
