SIMPSON
Acting State Engineer

UN 9 1992
Mlnea Land
ReclamatiDn n:~.:,,;
~n
We have reviewed the application for the Sand Creek Mine as per your request of May 14, 1992. The
application states that the mine will be used for the extraction of sand on a pazcel of land 40 acres in size.
Although the mine will be located along the bed of Bijou Creek, the creek bed is dry except after upstream
precipitation events. The mine will be constructed so that surface water will not enter the pit. No ground-
water is anticipated. Since this will be a dry mining operation, we have no objection to the approval of the
Sand Creek Mine.
cc: Alan Berryman, Division Engineer
Mabel Cunning, Water Commissioner
