EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN <br />INTRODUCTION -This proposal calls for the establishment of a new 264.63 acre sand and gravel <br />mining extradion operation together with gravel screening and crushing. Asphalt and concrete <br />production is not induded as part of this request <br />LOCATION -The site consists of 264.63 acres 5 5 miles southeast of Whitewater, 1 5 miles east o1 US <br />Highway 50 and approximately one half mile south of Kannah Creek Road m Mesa County. The site is <br />also located in part of the south haH of Section 3. Township 3 South, Range 2 East of the Ute Meridian <br />EXISTING 1J1N0 USE -The site under consideration is part of a single parcel of land. vad of any <br />structures and is presently owned by Martin and Danna Ascarraga of Cdlbran, Colorado The srte is <br />irregular in shape and i9 2,840 feet in length norttUSOUth, and 3!4 mile al its widest eastlwest point. The <br />primary present use is considered to be fallow range land. Ground cover ranges between non-existent to <br />natural grasses, fortis, and shrubs There is no evidence that the cullrvation of crops may have occurred <br />on the site m the past Irrigation on the site is non-existent The main channel of Kannah Creek, a <br />predaninate drainage feature in the area, lies 185 feet below the properties mean elevation and north of <br />the site <br />The topography of most of the site "flat" and generally slopes to the west at a rate of two percent and is <br />dominated by a large draw m the northwesterly regions of the property Areas along the properties <br />northerly and southerly boundaries exceed 30 percent and are depicted on the accanpanying Exhibit C. <br />Pre-mining Plan Map.
