•
III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
Juy 29, 1997
Dear Reclamation Board:
~ iiiiliiliiiiiiiiii
RECEIVED
JUL 3 ~ 1991
pivisan of M'nMP s a Geo~ogY
This letter is in reference to Agile Stone System's Parkdale Project, 112
Permit Application, Fle No. M~7-054. I would like to request public hearings based
on the following concerns:
~~,,~
~' ``~i.) The environmental impact statement references 57 acres impacted by the
mining operation, then lists a total of 65 acres. After adding all of the
acreages on their map, I come up with 140 acres.
2.) The permit application says in section D1.1 "There is no known site
specific data available on water levels in the vicinity of the gravel bar
aggregate pit" How does the mine plan to determine the depth of their
rav pits?
s.) The run-off from the mined area on the side of Cactus Mountain (benched
hill cut) will drain directly into Tallahassee Creek -filtering through hay %
bates will be inadequate to prevent damage to the wetlands and fish
habitat down stream. Hay bale filtration will not prevent sedimentation in
the Arkansas River and Canon City water supply.
4.) The flood plane level of Tallahassee Creek was addressed~n th~ lay~ut~
of the crusher and mill sites. S ~ ? G~ ~. ,f, ~/
Sincerey,
Mark N. Brown
P.O.
