Errors in USGS
topographic map create some dificulty in accurately locating wells and access is not possible at this time to verify locations (see
assumptions). The permit boundary is omitted for the sake of Garity.
12. Actual point of pumping is a sump 80 feet inside pit boundary and 40 feet inside pit walls. This is used as
the starting point for drawdown calculations.
13. Distance to Robinson Well (permit no. 47158F) is estimated at 1190 feet from the pit (1230 feet from the
pumping point. For worst-case purposes, drawdown will be calculated at a distance of 1000 feet from the
pumping point (960 feet from the pit wall). The two Akin wells (188074 and one without a permit number),
are both located south of the Akin house site, according to State Engineer records, and are also located on
the opposite bank of the river. Thus the Robinson Well is the worst-case. The Robinson Well is listed as
having a depth of 65 feet and a water level of 5 feet. (Only one Akin well has depth and water level listed; of
36 feet and 6 feet respectively.)
14. For analysis, it is assumed that an acceptable well drawdown at a point 1000 feet from the pumping point is
10 feet or less, that is, if water levels in the Robinson Well do not drop to more than 15 feet below the
surface, and that there is no significant well drawdown if the drawdown is 2 feet or less.
15. Intrinsic permeability of sand and gravel is 500 daroys (531 z 10" ftz). At 60F, Permeability (K) of sand and
gravel is 10,000 gpd/ft2, or 1336 CFlday-SF (fpd). Specific yield is 16%, coefficient of permeability (k)
=K`.16= 214 fpd.
9~~~ j~e~
1 ?441
O~Ce
Ceo~O9Y
Four States Aggregates, LLC 15 MAR 2001
Application for Permit: Line Camp Pit M-2001-001 FSA-LCP-D2-001 i
