The stockpile berm is 20 feet high, with grass growing 2 feet higher. A truck
(14.5 ft high) and auto (6 ft high) are shown for comparison of sight distances. Even when the
25-foot high plant is erected on the upper level (approximately at the water level shown on this
cross-section) the plant is still not visible from the highway at this point, even wkhout grass.
This detail cross-section is looking north at a line 200 feet north of the section line (Middle Pond)
and indudes only the western edge of the pit and redamation. At this particular point, the water
is less than 10 feet deep in the Middle Pond, and 318 CF per linear foot of fill is required to
obtain the required slopes. A total of 582 CF per linear foot of fill is available, leaving a surplus
of 164 CF per {inear foot for other backfiN and topsoil use.
The potential slope in case of slope failure (worst case) is shown for both slip and cylindrical
failure; the back of the failure is approximately 12 feet from the Home Ditch and 35 feet from the
fence line (the nearest permanent structure not inside the permit boundary). The slope of
2.8H:1 V (obtained from the Caterpillar Performance Handbook) is for saturated sand and
gravel. Following reclamation, the final slopes of the reclaimed area are less than the angle of
re ose, redudn ossibil' of slo a failure.
Items specked forthe Reclamation Plan in Rule 6.4.5.(1) and 6.4.5.(2)f. have been inducted in
other items in this Exhibitor have been included in other Exhibits referenced above, and
therefore are not separately listed in this exhibit.
Four States Aggregates, LLC 15 MAR 2001
Application for Permit: Line Camp Pit M-2001-001 FSA-LCP-D2-001
