All concerns that neighbors have and more are concerns of me such as safety, truck
traffic, dust, noise, diesel fumes, visual impact of removing pines junipers, sagebrush, plants and
grasses.
Impact on wildlife I live and join Benson Brothers on the south, the deer, elk go In the
trees to bed down in the day time aS t have seen this time after time. There are a number of birds
that nest in the Giff behind me.
On Thursday February 10 at the mine site with Benson Brothers one question was how
far up the hill would they go, just to the ridge they said, well it seems this has changed they plan to
go down this south side of the ridge to my property tine. This is at least a 25°k grade of this flat
part of the hill. There is 100% grade at places.
It might not be in the floodplain but t have seen water come off those ridges like a big
river.
Is red rock, (it is more pink than red) used onty for yards, drive ways, etc. really necessary
for the better of people at the expense of so many people and to destroy trees, land that will never
be the same as before.
Have they applied for a well permit?
If they mine on the south side of the ridge then it wilt be visible aft the way from slaughter
grade down Ward Creek Road to the mine.
Received from Maz Sullens February 17.2005 r
There are many valid health and environmental concerns that should warrant denial of a
permit to operate a stone quarry in Coalby Canyon. Those concerns aside -the object of
business is to profd. Therefore it must follow that the ultimate goal of the applicants is to enhance
their own personal estate. The folks in this community stand to lose something that exists in the
here and now. The applicants onty lose opportunity. Can there really be a choice?
