February 13, 2005
Delta County Planning Department
Delta County Courthouse
501 Palmer St.
Delta, CO 81416
To Whom It May Concern:
t)elta county plsnnlnp Dept
Uate ReoeWed
2- 7-b5
It has been brought to my attention that Benson Brothers has purchased the quarry
property within the last six months from Richard Beldon. I understand Benson Brothers
Red Canyon has submitted for rock quarry application (SDOS-001). I am asking that the
application be DENIED.
Attached is a list of reasons for the application to be DENIED. All theses reasons will
have an impact on my living neaz a quazry or any other developments.
I want to add to the list, I have lived at 18671 Wazd Creek Road since December 7, 1997.
I moved from Denver to Coalby Canyon to get away from the congestion of heavy traffic,
noise, pollution and etc., to live in a quiet, peaceful, non-polluted azea and etc. If Benson
Brothers is granted the permit for the quarry or any other developments, I will not be able
to enjoy the reasons I moved here for. They will be taking away my way of living.
My main reason for moving to Coalby Canyon is health reason. I have respiratory and
allergy problems. I use to take weekly allergy shots and having to use the breathing
machine daily. Since moving to Coalby Canyon, my weekly shots have been reduced to
zero. Using the breathing machine has been reduced to zero. I feaz if Benson Brothers get
their permit and their business up and running, I will be back where I was before moving
to Coalby Canyon.
I am asking Delta County Planning Department to DENY the application.
Sincerely,
Susan Ruiz J
18671 Wazd Creek Road
Cedaredge, CO 81413
