2.05.5 Post Minine Land Uscs
The post mining land use which Basin proposes Cor the permit area at the Golden Gaglc
• Mine shall consist of pastureland, rangeland, ranchettc and industrial use (natural gas
production). This is identical to the Pre-mining land use as shown on Map 4, with the
addition of industrial use. "This is consistent with approved land uses as determined by
the Las Animas County Zoning Board: Detailed explanations of each of these land uses
which Basin plans to implement on reclaimed lands is located in Section 2.04.3 of this
application.
Reclamation of the disturbed areas will provide a permanent cover of plant species which
are consistent with the plam~ed post-mining land use. Achievement of the post mining
land uses of rangeland, and pastureland will be accomplished by the implementation of
the grading and backfilliug plan and the revegetation plan reviewed in section 2.05.4 of
this application. Upon approval oC final reclamation and full bond release, the land will
be returned to each of these land uses.
Basin either owns or controls though an exclusive-use lease, the surface which was
affected by the Golden Lagle mining operation. Basin will continue to maintain control
over these lands consistent with the post mining land use through final bond release.
Access to revegetated areas will be controlled to ensure that the post-mining land use is
achieved as soon as possible. Upon completion of final reclamation and lidl bond
release, the land will return to its approved post-mining land use and utilized by the
landowners, lessees or renters. The majority of the disturbed areas is owned by the State
of Colorado, managed by the Division of Wildlife, and will he used as a Slate Wildlife
• Arca.
[n those areas with apost-mining industrial use classification, satisfactory cover, plant
life or gravel base, or other erosion control methods were employed to control erosion
during and after mining ceased. Basin continued to monitor these sites after mine closure
until reclamation bonding was established by the industrial user with Uie Oil and Gas
Conservation Commission and bond release for these sites was granted by the Division of
Minerals and Geology. Upon completion of natural gas production and related activities,
the permittee of the natural gas estate will reclaim these industrial use areas iu accordance
with the requirements of the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
The return of the lauds' condition to the post-ruining land uses is consistent with the
surface owner's consent. This approach to reclamation of the disturbed areas and
affected areas and its return to the pre-mining land uses, is consistent, and
• Sb
'Cft-yS 2.U5-30 (Repaginated $/26/(15)
