species are roughly the same.
Stoneflies also showed an apparent dl_rference between upstream and
downstream stations in March, with 3 or ~+ species at the upstream station
and only one species each at the lower stations. In October however, this
'send was rot seen :sd in July all stoneflies h.-.d cpp:sently emerged as
none ;rere found at any station.
There were less obvious differences in numbers o£ specie's of mayflies
between stations than for caddisflies but the trend was still similar
between upstream stations and downstream stations. The latter generally
had fewer species. ?'here xas no consistent difference between station
NF-3 & 4 based on mayfly species.
The beetles showed less obvious differences in species absence or
presence between the 4 stations, although in July there appeared to be a
• tendency for fewer species at the upstream stations, (NF-1 & 2) than at
the downs~seam stations (NF-3 & 4).
`~
L J
5-io
