Exhibit L
Reclamation Costs
• Revision k3-Page 20 of 30
Reclamation of the project site will consist of importing fill material, approximately 650,000 cubic yards,
to replace the volume of sand and gravel mined from the site, such that it may be reclaimed back to its
original grades. Imported fill soils will consists ofnon-hazardous soil, concrete, rock, and brick such that
no single piece of material has a dimension larger than two (2) feet on any face. No material larger than six
(6) inches in diameter will be placed within the top two feet of the final grade.
To minimize the amount of reclamation bonding requved for the project, the applicant would limit the
excavation pit area (backfill area, sand and gravel highwall, and overburden highwall) to no more than
three acres. By limiting the size to three acres, the estimated volume of backfill material required to
reclaim the site is approximately 130,680 cubic yards.
The applicant has existing stockpiled material stored at the site that will be used for the mining operations.
At the present time 9,000 cubic yards of fill is stockpiled in a berm located at the southeast comer of the
site, and 9,000 cubic yards fill is stockpiled along the north property line.
The reclamation cost estimate assumes that a majority of the reclamation work requ'ved is located the
farthest point away from [he material stockpile locations. The estimate assumes the following:
3 Acres to be backfilled/compacted;
114,500 CY of fill will need to be required;
18,600 CY of fill is onsite (9,000 at north property line & 9,600 in Berrn at SE Comer of Site)
95,900 (Round to 96,000) CY of fill must be imported
32.5 total acres requires topsoil replacement;
32.5 Acres will be deep tilled prior to topsoil placement;
32.5 acres to be disked, mulched, seeded and fertilized;
Gravel haul roads and scale house to be demolished;
Settlement pond a[ 1 acre to be demolished;
# DESCRIPTION QUAN UNIT UNIT/$ TOTAL
1 Import Fill, Truck, Load, Dumped At Pit (5 mile) 96,000 CY $ 1.60 $153,600
2 Haul/Place Onsite Fill (1/3 Mile Trip) 18,600 CY $ 0.50 $ 9,300
3 Compact Fill 96,000 CY $ 0.20 $ 19,200
4 Demolish Settlement Pond (1 Acre) 5,000 CY $ 0.50 $ 2,500
5 Remove Haul Roads/ Scale Structure 1 LS $ 2,500.00 $ 2,500
6 Deep Till Reclamation Area 32.5 AC $ 50.00 $ 1,625
7 Topsoil Placement From Stockpile 17,500 CY $ 0.30 $ 5,250
8 Mulch Site 32.5 AC $ 50.00 $ 1,625
9 Disc Site 32.5 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,250
10 Seeding 32.5 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,250
11 Fertilize Site 32.5 AC $ 25.00 $ 813
12 Weed Control 32.5 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,250
TOTAL $206,163
