H79-fl:;ixi <br />Creig: K?44i'_'4:1 <br />In response to your letter of December 18th, 1979 concerning <br />our application for the above #112 regular permit. <br />Relating to item 13, the total affected acreage of the two <br />combined pits will be 20 acres and the additional application <br />fee will be submitted with this letter. <br />EXHIBIT C: (1) The adjacent surface owners are Mountain..Mobile <br />Mix, Glen & Dorothy Chambers, and the Rio Grande Railroad. <br />(2) Topographic map is enclosed as supplied by the U.S. Soil <br />Conservation Service. (3) Total affected area is 20 acres. <br />(4) No vegetation is now existing on the affected area. <br />(5) The Colorado River borders the affected land on the south <br />with a fifty foot berm being left between the river and the <br />pit areas, :vhich is the only water tributary near the area. <br />(6) The stockpiles of topsoil are clearly illustrated on the <br />photographs marked "Exhibit C". (7) Both pit areas are entirely <br />flat or level, therefore the elevations will not he changed or <br />affected during the mining operations or after reclamation <br />has been completed. <br />EXHIBIT D: (1) When mining in the Chambers pit area, the <br />water will be pumped into mined out pits in the MMM pit area <br />and when mining in the D1MM pit area the water will be pumped <br />into the Chambers pit area, both being within the affected area. <br />(2) Illustrated on aerial map marked "Exhibit C". (3) The area <br />in the MMM pit that has been mined to the ultimate depth is to <br />a depth of 25-ft., which is to shale with a water depth of 14-ft. <br />and being adjacent„ both pits are determined to be the same. <br />(4) The gas line right-of-v:ay will not he affected as the <br />mining operations will be conducted 50-ft. to the east of this <br />right-of-way. (5) The topsoil stockpiles have been made some <br />years prior to our taking over this mining operation and seem <br />to be quite stabilized which is evident on photographs marked <br />"Exhibit C". <br />„`EXHIBIT E: (1) The reclamation seeding will be done with <br />_F current recommendations from the staff and the local Soil <br />Conservation Service and as outlined in our Reclamation Plan <br />marked "Exhibit E" :nd will be carried out equally at both <br />the MMM Rifle Pit and the Chambers Pit. (2) Irrigation has <br />been planned and mulching will also be done if the current <br />weather conditions deem it necessary. (3) A 3:1 slope will <br />be maintained to the hottom of the pits at both locations. <br />`~ EXHIBIT F: (1j The elevations on adjacent lands and the re- <br />"J claimed areas will not be changed with the water depth to be <br />14-ft.
