SECTION 1.0 2001 Annual Reclamation Report

As specified by the revisions (1/3/90) to 2CCR 407-2, 2.04.13, Trapper Mine is submitting an Annual
Reclamation Report for the previous calendar year (2001).
Historically, section 3.5.3 of Trapper's mining and reclamation permit required a reclamation map be
submitted to the CDMG annually by March 15. Subsequent to 1988 the map entitled the "Postmine
Contour Map" was changed to "Reclamation Map " The reclamation maps developed from aerial
photographs taken during the previous fall shows pit advancements, recontoured spoil areas and a
historical account of the previously regraded areas for the year.
The 2001 reclamation map is a composite of the aerial photographs taken in October 2001, and shows
the reclamation performed during 2001 for all areas under bond. Map(s) 1.0 show the aerial extent and
location of mature shrub clumps, disturbed acres, graded acres, topsoiled acres and perennial seeded
acres during 2001. It also shows the location, aerial extent and reclamation year of all previously
revegetated areas, as well as the projected mature shrub clump establishment areas, topsoil stripping
areas and laydown areas for 2002.

1.2 Results
Table 1.1 and Map(s) 1.0 show the 2001 reclamation results. The various reclamation stages
are addressed below in separate subsections.
1.2.1 Disturbed Acres
In 2001, Trapper disturbed 215.5 acres resulting from topsoil salvage for pit advancement,
haulage wrridor construction, topsoil stockpile construction, and other miscellaneous activities
as approved by the Division.
1.2.2 Backfilled and Graded Acres
Trapper backfilled and graded to final contour (AOC) approximately 98.5 acres in 2001. These
acres were in Ashmore, Derringer and Flintlock pits. Trapper also stripped 5.9 acres of topsoil
to create a dragline walk road through a previously reclaimed portion of Hawken pit. Thus, the
net backfilled and graded acreage was 92.5.
1.2.3 Topsoiled Acres
Trapper retopsoiled 98.5 acres during 2001 in Ashmore, Derringer and Flintlock pits. Trapper
also stripped 5.9 acres of topsoil to create a dragline walk road through a previously reclaimed
portion of Hawken pit. Thus, the net topsoiled acreage was 92.5.
1.2.4 Seeded Acres
There were 98.5 acres seeded to permanent reclamation in fall 2001 and 39.6 acres seeded in
spring 2001. These acres were all in association with mine pit(s) advancement.
