1
' 1. sand ad (hsval Opsiaticn
' Processing of pit run gravel into epecificatio~n aggregates will occur on site.
The crusher plant will be situated at the southwest section of the permitted
area.
' The source of this pit run will, for the most part, be inaitu materials; however,
some excavating and stockpiling will be necessary. 'These activities will still
be confined adjacent to the crusher plant site as depicted on the Mining Plan
' Map, Exhibit E.
The crusher plant is powered by an electrical generator set that is fueled by
' diesel fuel. Particular efforts will be made to provide spill contairunent for
any diesel fuels that could accidentally be released.
' The fuel tank will be situated near to the generator set. An earthen berm will
be built around the fuel tank and generator set so as to contain a spill and to
prevent any fuel or oil from gainir~t access to the water that is remaining in
the bottom of the pit. In the event of a spill, the oil saturated soils will
' be entirely roved from the site and deposited at an approved disposal site.
The parameters of the operatics shall be that no excavation shall occur nearer
' than 30 feet to any adjacent property. A distance of 100 feet will be maintained
between any excavation and the shoreline of the Colorado River, which ie adjacent
to the site on the east. Excavatia~n will be conducted eo as to facilitate
reYsabilitation of the property as detailed in the Reclamation Plan.
2. Asphalt Plitt Operation
' Production of hot asphalt shall occur at this site; the location of the plant
will be as depicted on the Mining Plan Map, Exhibit E. Crushed aagreaates will
be stockpiled Sn an area between the crusher plant and the asphalt plant.
' Asphalt cement and diesel fuel will be used at this site in the pxoductio~t of
hot asphalt. Spill contairmient procedures for these two products shall be
followed in a similar fashion ae will be done in the earri and gravel operations
for diesel fuels.
In addition to spill containment procedures, drainage control will be implemented
to divert upland drainage away from the asphalt plant area and to prevent
inmediate run-off fran this site into the Colorado River or the lake area. This
drainage control will be in the form of grader ditdves axrnmd the plant site
perimeter.
-8-
