James Mcl~dle
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Board
1313 Sherman Street, 4th Floor
Denver, ~ 80203
Dear Jim:
DEC - 4 1980
MINED LAND RECLA~iATiDN
Colo. Dept. of Natural Resources
C,~~OCSDa ra ~, SvS, ~'
Attached is an application for a mining and reclamation permit for the Chambers
Pit, just west of Eagle, Coloracb. Last summer we submitted and subsequently
withdrew an application for a limited impact operatic at this site. Local
govem+~nt approval has now been granted, and we are ready to proceed with a
state permit. We now have time to go ahead with a 112 application.
Three items need explanation. First, the seed mix for the terrace slopes is
quite expensive because of the inclusion of Indian ricegrass. If you have sug-
gestions for another type of grass which would be less costly but serve as well,
please let me know.
Second, I will forward to you as soon as possible the signed lease in an abbre-
viated form. Mr. Chambers is out of the state, and he plans to sign the lease
on his return.
Third, the reclamation cost section reflects a total Est for recla~m;ng the site.
You have recently changed your bond forms. I'd like to discuss with you the
possibility of bonding only as much disturbance as would exist in the ~•x~rst case
year.
I look forward to having your ccnpleteness review; we hope to publish public
notice as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
O
(Mrs.) Margaret Winter
