Page 4-56 has been added to address the raptor electrocu-
tion - proofing of any and all power lines installed in
the area by Salt Creek.
Prime Farmlands
1. It is clear from review of the application that Salt Creek
proposes no surface coal mining activities in Section 32,
Township 7 South, Range 102 West on land "historically used
for cropland" 2.06.6 (1).
Signs and Markers
1. All necessary signs and markers as required by Rule 9.02
will be installed as described in Section 2.2.6 of the
previously approved Munger Canyon Permit Application and
no changes are intended for this revision.
Roads
1. Calculations to size culverts and ditches have been in-
cluded in Appendix Ds.
General Comments
1. All state, federal and local permits and/or approvals
will be in-hand prior to any construction necessitat-
ing such permits and/or approvals. The BLM permit or
approval will be applied for as required. The state
regulatory agency can, however, approve and issue the
permit pending necessary permits from the BLM.
Roads and Conveyors
1. Though cut slopes were designed to CMLR requirements of
1V:1.SH, analyses of cut stability have been performed.
These analyses show operational safety factors in excess
of 1.6 while reclamation safety factors will be above
1. 7. A discussion of the analysis for the refuse road
and McClane road is presented on Pages 2-9 and 2-9A and
shown on Figures 2.2-6.65, 2.2-6.75, 2.2-6.85 and 2.2-
10.65. Conveyor cut slopes are discussed on Pages 2-11,
2-11A and 2-11B and shown on Figure 2.2-8.95.
