Page 4-56 has been added to address the raptor electrocu- <br />tion - proofing of any and all power lines installed in <br />the area by Salt Creek. <br />Prime Farmlands <br />1. It is clear from review of the application that Salt Creek <br />proposes no surface coal mining activities in Section 32, <br />Township 7 South, Range 102 West on land "historically used <br />for cropland" 2.06.6 (1). <br />Signs and Markers <br />1. All necessary signs and markers as required by Rule 9.02 <br />will be installed as described in Section 2.2.6 of the <br />previously approved Munger Canyon Permit Application and <br />no changes are intended for this revision. <br />Roads <br />1. Calculations to size culverts and ditches have been in- <br />cluded in Appendix Ds. <br />General Comments <br />1. Figure 2.2-15 has been modified to show the total area <br />to be disturbed by the coal refuse pile over the life <br />of the mine. <br />2. All state, federal and local permits and/or approvals <br />will be in-hand prior to any construction necessitat- <br />ing such permits and/or approvals. The BLM permit or <br />approval will be applied for as required. The state <br />regulatory agency can, however, approve and issue the <br />permit pending necessary permits from the BLM. <br />Roads and Conveyors <br />1. Though cut slopes were designed to CMLR requirements of <br />1V:1.SH, analyses of cut stability have been performed. <br />These analyses show operational safety factors in excess <br />of 1.6 while reclamation safety factors will be above <br />1. 7. A discussion of the analysis for the refuse road <br />and McClane road is presented on Pages 2-9 and 2-9A and <br />shown on Figures 2.2-6.65, 2.2-6.75, 2.2-6.85 and 2.2- <br />10.65. Conveyor cut slopes are discussed on Pages 2-11, <br />2-11A and 2-11B and shown on Figure 2.2-8.95. <br />
