OF MINERALS <br />& GEOLOGY <br />for lunited impact and select regular mine applications <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology in <br />their consideration of a mining permit for: <br />1. Wildlife Species list: <br />L&L Ready Mix, Sunny Dale Farm Pit, File No. M-98-059 <br />.~-- <br />Section 14, T7N, R46W, Phillips County, Colorado <br />necked Pheasant, and various passerine bird species. <br />The following species were observed at or near the mine location while visiting <br />the site on July 24, 1998, White-tailed Jackrabbit, Thirteen-lured Ground <br />Squvrel, Northern Shake, Western Kingbird, Western Meadow lark, Mourning <br />Dove, and Killdeer. Other common species inhabiting the project area include, <br />Coyote, Striped Skunk, Western Box Turtle, Bull Snake, Mule Deer, Ring- <br />4. Endangered/critical species iritpacted: <br />There are no known endangered of threatened species existing in the area <br />5. Critical habitats/vegetative wmmunities impacted: <br />6. Assessment of impact: <br />There are no critical habitats or vegetation communities present at the mute <br />site. The mute is located in a gazed pasture and is surrounded by farmed lands. <br />Impacts to native wildlife populations will be rrti»intal to none. During ntirtutg <br />operation some individuals may be displaced from the area due to disturbance <br />and increased human activities. <br />7. Mine Reclanation recommendations <br />Reclamation of this mining site provides an opportunity to actually enhance <br />habitat for several wildlife species, utchrding pheasants. With the landowners <br />approval ,part or all of the site could be reclaimed at no cost except for <br />exchrdutg gazing from the improved areas. Several options including plttm <br />thickets, windbreaks, or establishment of native warmseason grass stand are <br />available.
