Valco T Pit <br />Las Animas County <br />Vak;o Inc. <br />• c) Valco Inc. has applied for a Stormwater Discharge Permit. The <br />storm run-off from the disturbed areas will discharge into the <br />creek bed on the eastern boundary of the property which <br />empties into a pond located approximately 3000 feet north of <br />the operation. <br />Valco Inc. may create a closed circuit system to wash sand <br />and gravel utilizing a sealed tank and recirculating the wash <br />water. Initial and supplementary potable water (absorbed by <br />material) will be purchased from the City of Trinidad and <br />hauled to the site. Minor amounts of excess water from the <br />stockpiles will evaporate. <br />3. a) If Valco Inc. operates a dry pit then there will be no water <br />usage. <br />b) If a closed circuit system is utilized to wash the sand and <br />gravel, Valco will purchase 250,000 gallons of potable water <br />per year from the City of Trinidad to be hauled into the site. No <br />water from sources on the property will be required. <br />. 4. A NPDES permit is not required inasmuch as no process water will be <br />discharged. <br />
