The roads will be surfaced with selected shales and sand-
stones from the overburden, none of which will be acid or toxic
• forming. Routine maintenance of the haul roads will include
frequent blading, filling of potholes, ditch and culvert cleaning
and resurfacing as required.
Reclamation of the haul road will be done immediately after
the road will no longer be needed for mining, reclamation or
monitoring operations. This reclamation will be consistent with
the requirements of Section 4.03.1(7), 2 CCR 407-2.
There are two roads within the proposed permit area, includ-
ing the mine access road which deadends at the mine and is used
solely for mine traffic, and an infrequently used access road
that serves an active oil well owned by M&T Incorporated. Mining
on the proposed permit area will require temporary abandonment of
about 500 ft of the oil well road. During the time when the oil
well road is out of service, access to the well will be over mine
haulroads within the permit area as required by M&T Incorporated
to service the well. Figure 2 shows the locations of these
roads. The M&T access road will be reconstructed as part of the
reclamation plan.
A letter from M&T Incorporated granting approval for reloca-
• tion of their access road is included in this application as
Appendix S.
(4) Ponds, impoundments and Diversions
(a) (i) During the spring of 1991, all temporary diver-
sions and pond structures on the property were reclaimed.
Technical Revision 6 to the permit allowed Ponds 001 and 002 to
remain as permanent structures. Information pertaining to TR-6
is contained in Appendix Q. For informational purposes, all
sediment control structure designs remain in this section.
(Revised 08/01/91)
-35-
•
