998
s'~; 2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
ACTIVITIES - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND
RECLAMATION PLANS.
2.05.1 Objectives
Wyoming Fuel Company's responses to this section will
reference and utilize applicable baseline information referenced
in Section 2.04.
2.05.2 Operation Plan - Estimated Area for Life of Operation
(1) Production Methods and Equipment
As shown on Figure 1, coal is mined utilizing an open
pit haulback method, with trucks and shovel for overburden removal.
Each mining area (Pit 1 and Pit 2, see Figure 2) is
designed and mined consistant with the most efficient engineering
practices. We are constantly evaluating methods and market con-
ditions that could increase economic coal recovery and minimize
disturbances to the area.
The anticipated production schedule for each pit is
shown in the following chart:
Pit 1 Pit 2
Coal Production Coal Production
Year Tons (000's) Year Tons (000's)
1981 145 1981 60
TOTAL 145 1982 250
1983 300
1984 300
TOTAL 910
The grand total for Pit 1 and Pit 2 is 1,055,000 tons coal
recovered. Production and reclamation schedules presented in this
permit application are contingent on market conditions increased
sales and production rates possible. If the proposed higher
production rates are not realized, the reclamation schedule will
_ be delayed accordingly.
-25~
