BANTA, Director `~ ` u l ~ ~
DATE: May 13, 1988
T0: filbert F. Rindahl
FROM: Michael J. Boyd, Reclamation Specialist
RE: File No. M-88-052
Adequacy Items
The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the
applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et se q, and the Mineral Pules and
Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board
(1) The application indicates that the total area of affected lands is
9.9 acres. There is some questions as to whether or not the "New Road"
required for access is included in your proposed permit area/acreage
calculations. We must be sure that this mad is included, and that the
total area is still less than 10 acres:
(2) We suggest you consider salvaging at least one foot of
topsoil/overburden for redistribution prior to revegetation.
(3) We still have not received the Division of Wildlife
evaluation/inspection report referenced in the application.
(4) The application fails to indicate the direction mining will proceed, er
to specify the maximum anticipated gradient of reclaimed slopes.
(5) Reclamation costs have been estimated at approximately S?25.00/acre.
Information included in this section is generally based on unit costs
for an independent contractor to perform required activities such as
backfilling, grading, topsoil application, seeding, mulching,
fertilization and labor; for comparable mining operations; these costs
generally range between E1,000.00 and E1,500.00 per acre. Please
re-evaluate your reclamation cost estimates and notify us if you
conclude that revisions to those figures are needed.
7331E
275 Centennial Building, 13'13 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 60203.2273 Tel.
