I think it would
be a tradgedy if they are allowed to expand. The infamous
"scar on the mountain" is certainly proof they are a
very poor corporate citizen of the Colorado Springs area.
I have worked with mining companies in the past and
find the Castle Concrete Company has one of the worst
records concerning preservation of the environment. I
am certainly in favor of mining and realize we desperately
need mineral resources, however, in this case I am
opposedto any further mining. Although the Castle Concrete
Company talks a great deal about reclamation their record
is terrible. Of all the companies I have worked with they
are by far the most irresponsible.
I hope the Colorado Mine Land Reclamation Board puts
a stop to their plans to further destroy our environment.
Sincerely,
,~ T~ ~w~~
Robert P.
