<br />MINING PLAN <br />1.~~ <br />Topsoil will be stripped from areas to be disturbed bef re <br />excavation operations are initiated. Stripping depth w'll vary <br />from 0 to 32 inches depending on availability and compo ition. <br />Topsoil and overburden materials will be stockpiled~alo g the <br />perimeter of the permit site (see map of mining operati ns). The <br />stockpiles will be seeded (see reclamation plan for det ils of <br />seeding methods and plant species) to prevent excessive erosion <br />caused by wind and water. Topsoil stockpiles will be c early <br />segregated from the mining operations using lath and fl gging. <br />Topsoil stockpiles will be protected from possible floo ing by <br />berms composed of crusher reject materials. <br />Mining operations will begin in the existing pit, locat d in the <br />northwest corner of the permit area (northwest of the e fisting <br />dirt road). Excavation will proceed to a depth of 2 to 10 feet <br />depending on composition of the materials. Mining will then move <br />southeast of the existing dirt road and proceed southea t. <br />Track type dozers and rubber tired loaders will be used to <br />excavate the sand and gravel materials and feed them to ~ - <br />portable crusher located on the permit site. Th@ crush r i~ <br />adjustable to produce aggregates of different sipZ <br />conveyor system then forms separate stockpiles of each ized <br />material as it is crushed. <br />All of the equipment that will be used in this mining, <br />and sorting operation is portable and will be moved aro <br />permit area as mining progresses.
