J/y. ~ <br />! . <br />/ Mark Loye -2- September 13, 1984 <br />My only problem with their approach was that the bond does not appear to fully <br />cover the costs of the actually doing the construction/earthwork. It is <br />probable that earthwork will need to be done more than once to correct areas <br />that failed (such as gullies, slides, excessive erosion). Since there are no <br />reclaimed areas at the mine with long slope lengths it is difficult to <br />determine the magnitude of problems that may arise, but my experience with <br />other mines in the state indicates that some problems will arise. <br />I would propose requesting ample bond to cover such additional work. As <br />reclamation on site continues and we get a better handle on the potential <br />problems that may arise this bond amount could be reduced. I suggest we sit <br />down and retook at the entire bond cost to determine whether the bond is <br />sufficient to cover all anticipated topographic and drainage modifications. <br />/yt <br />cc: Mike Long <br />Doc.
