• Torriorthent(3) B/C, Beenom-Absazokee(I) B/C, Torriorthent(3) B/C, and Beenom-
Absazokee(2) B). Salvaged soils will not need to be segregated by soil type or horizon,
since characteristics are similaz and compatible. Soils will not need to be replaced by
horizon or in specific locations during reclamation for the same reason.
SUMMARY
Forty soil test pits were dug within the proposed Sylvester Gulch Facilities Area. Four
significant soil types were encountered and mapped within the SGFA. Three of the
four soil types had two or more variants. Each horizon within each variant was
analyzed separately for physical and chemical parameters important in evaluating
suitability for use as a plant growth medium in reclamation. Based on field
observations and laboratory analysis of physical and chemical parameters of each
horizon for each soil type, recommendations for suitability of soil types and horizons
were made.
u

-IS-
