Asphalt Paving Company, we
wonder if t'ney have av'equately provided for the possibility
of a large flood. nor example, the size of the once in a
hundred year flood. Along with this, is the setback from
the Platte River to the proposed mined area adequate?
The remaining land after mining as proposed leaves a very
small area to be grazed. This will provide limited grazing.
We believe the area should nova a Conservation ?ion and the
grass shoulc be managed. ror example, a four inch growth
should be left on the grass a~ all times. Weeds should be
controlled and livastoc'r, should not be allowed on the slopes
into the la'r.e. ?. watering ramp should be built at one
IOCatfon Into each la/-:'e tJ allow eGG255 t0 the IaK a' ~y
livestock and large wildlife. This ramp should be 50 to 100
feet wide and should have ':; slopes or flatter. The ramp
should e>:tend Into the anticipa2ad low Water. Thls area
should than be fenced to keep livestock out of the lake and
off the sidaslopes cf the labia.
A.II disturbed or bare areas should be seeded to adapted
grasses. Tr.esa grasses s'noufd be allowed to become wall
established before being grazed by livestock.
