i~ <br />~cn~~-- ~ <br /> <br />NOTICE FOR PUBLICATION IN THE DURANGO HERALD <br /> <br />Sun Belt Mining, Inc., 7100 Grapevine Highway, Suite 208, <br />Fort Worth, Texas 76118 has filed with the Colorado f4ined Land <br />Reclamation Division, an application for a permit to conduc t <br />coal mining under provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act of 1979. The legal description of the proposed <br />mine is attached. <br />The surface of the proposed permit is owned by the <br />applicant, Southern Ute Tribe of Indians, and Phillip M. Pfleging <br />and Sue T. Pfleging. Operation of the mine has already commenced. <br />The map below indicates the towns, water bodies., local landmarks <br />and routes necessary to readily identify the proposed permit area, <br />The proposed post-mining use of the affected land is rangeland <br />and wildlife habitat. The outside right-of-way of County Road 120 <br />comes within 100 feet of the proposed area to be affected. U.S.G.S. <br />7.5 minutes, quadrangle map Hesperus, Colorado show the area of <br />the proposed operation. A copy of the application is available <br />for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk and Re- <br />corder, La Plata County Courthouse, Durango, Colorado. Written <br />comments, objections, or requests for an informal conference on <br />the application may be submitted to and additional information <br />obtained from the Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 30203, Telephone (303) <br />839-3567. <br />Written comments, objections or requests for an informal <br />conference must be filed at the Division by 5:00 p.m. on <br />1981. <br /> <br />
