The dominant vegetation ie blue ;rams. The Mayor Land
Resource Area ie H72, the Central High Tableland. This area ie exposed to
high intensity rain storms with hot, dry winds between these storms. This
pit ie located adjacent to an intermittent stream. When mining of the
Gravel pit is terminated the following procedure may be followed to restore
the area to its native rangeland condition. Side elopes should be graded
down to a minimum of a 3:1 slope. Six inches of topsoil or Boil material
capable of supporting vegetation should be spread evenly over the elope to
provide a good seedbed. Twenty tone per acre of manure should be spread
over the area to provide the nitrogen and phosphorus requirements and pro-
tect the Boil from erosion. This can be done immediately before or after
seeding. See CO - CCAS - 6 for seeding rates. The grave seed should be
planted one quarter to three quarters of an inch deep. The seeding may be
done anytime from November 1 through May 31. The area of seeding should
be protected from grazing until well established (usually two growing
seasons).
Ehcloeuree: aerial photo
soil map
Boil deecriptlon
eupperting data for grass seeding
range condition inventory
o~
~~
