I am opposed to the proposed project for several reasons. First, we
built our house in Independence Valley seeking privacy and quietness. I can not imagine
a gravel cnuhing op«ation not adding a substantial amount of noise to the surrounding
area. Second, the proposed project does nothing to support or increase existing property
value. If anything it would be looked at as a negative iafluenoe on the surrounding area.
Third, I don't know how Grand Junction and/or Mesa County could overlook the
potential traffic problem. Broadway is a two-lane road and already the traffic on this
road is a problem. It will only get worse with the amount of growth our area is
experiencing. A commercial project with ducks cazrying gravel on Broadway will in all
likely hood make the traffic situation near unbearable.
I was very shocked to hear that a commercial enterprise could be located in this area.
There are numerous areas in Mesa Courtty that commercial businesses could be together
leaving residential areas alone.
lino«cly, P~~Lf~~~, ®FF~CE
~'ilE,
1 ~ ~-rE;
George D.
