Processing and Stocknilina
Initially, the material will be excavated, placed into temporary
stockpiles and allowed to drain, and then transported as pit run material
to the company's plant for further processing. However, processing
equipment could later be located on site. Such equipment would include,
but not be limited to, portable crushing and screening equipment, and
portable scales. The Exhibit C map illustrates the probable initial
processing area setting. The processing facilities may move, however,
along the pit floor as necessary to accormrodate the operations.
Material stockpiles created on site will occur close to the excavation
to permit drainage, in and around the processing area, and at other
locations within the permit area as necessary.
Life of the Oaeration
It is estimated that about two or three acres will be disturbed per
year. On the basis of this rate of extraction, the life of the operation
is estimated to be approximately 11 to 17 years. However, the actual rate
of mining is based on market demands and subject to change accordingly.
Phases of Mining and Reclamation
It is anticipated that there will be two phases of the operation as
follows:
/ PHASES
Phase 1 - 22.72+/- ac. (approx. 19.26 ac. disturbed).
To be mined beginning in the spring of 1996
for a period estimated to be about 6 to
10 years. Reclamation of this Phase to
begin upon cortmp~cement of operations in
Phase 2.
Phase 2 - 14.69+/- ac, (approx. 13.68 ac. disturbed).
To be mined over a period estimated to be
about 5 to 7 years. Reclamation of Phase 1
to crnmence. Reclamation of Phase 2 to occur
upon completion of operations.
-6-
