Colorado 81002 <br />Reference: Reclamation Permit for Custer County Gravel Pit (M-1193), MLRB File No. M-95-026, <br />112 Pcnnil Apphcaliou <br />Dear Ms. Samos: <br />In response to your request for additional ittformatiat regarding the above referenced pcnnit. <br />You expressed concern tltat the Grovel Pit Wight impact the headwaters and drainage channels in the <br />arcs The "PERMIT AREA" may be described as being a fairly Oat area of prairie with no existing <br />erosional fcauucs +vitltin the "PERMIT AREA". The "PERMIT AREA" is approximately X0.25 acres in <br />area. No erosional nus or gullies exist +cithin the area. No ponding of am kind occurs v+ithin the <br />"PERMIT AREA"; therefore. no "High Water Marks" exist Only the uniform Oo+v of ruuolf over the <br />surface occurs during periods of rain. We hacc stated in the permit application +vhich spells out <br />requirements which must be adhered to b}' the "PERMIT HOLDER" thaC <br />"Proper grading and care will be taken on a conumtous basis (or the precemion of erosion at the <br />site Shonk after am nctjor ruustonu the "PERMIT AREA" will be examined for any erosion <br />and rcpmrs unnrcdiatcly pcrforntcd. <br />Temporary diversion ditches +vill be used io redirect surface runofT around and away from pit <br />areas iu order to preccw Ote erosion o(silt imo the pit area. Sce ditch details at the end o(tlris <br />Exhibit. Walcr impoundmew +vill not be pcnuilled. Straw bales wtll be used to filler out silt at <br />settling basins and located m points along the drainage ditches as required. Sec detatls al the end <br />of this Exhibit.
